Cultural Biography

I grew up in Manila in the 1980s, in a family finding its footing after the People Power Revolution. The narrow inner alleys of the city were my playground, and I learned early what it means to make do, adapt, and keep going when life feels uncertain.

When the costs of city life became too heavy for a family of six, we moved to the province while my father stayed behind for work. Over time, our family changed in ways I did not fully understand as a child. After my mother passed away, my siblings and I were raised by relatives. Life was not easy, but it shaped the way I see people and struggle. It gave me a deep respect for perseverance, for the people who stepped in, and for the kind of support that can quietly change a life’s direction.

With the help of family, friends, and scholarship grants, I finished college, built a career, and began to understand what it means to build a life with intention. Over the last two decades, I’ve worked across industries in project coordination, digital work, and operations, often working with teams across distance and time zones. I’m most at home when I’m untangling complexity, creating meaningful content, and helping bring a vision into focus. With a background in applied mathematics, I naturally look for patterns, simplify what feels tangled, and help the next step feel more doable. I bring both care and follow-through, collaborating across the team to keep Journey You Own running smoothly and staying true to its purpose.

I’m a problem solver by nature, and I’ve grown to value resilience, self-trust, and the kind of support that helps people keep going, both at work and in life. Because my early years included real hardship, I hold my life as healing in progress, and I try to meet myself with patience and compassion.

Today, I’m living a quieter provincial life in the Philippines with my own family, grateful for a slower pace and the space to breathe. Journey You Own reflects what I’ve come to believe: growth is not about getting it right, it’s about returning to yourself with care, again and again. For me, the journey is where healing and meaning meet, and I’m learning to trust the light that shows up when I keep going.
