Journey of Breath: A BIPOC Meditation for Mindfulness and Gratitude

In this episode, we invite you to join us for a guided meditation session specifically designed for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) led by Jyothi V. Robertson.

The session begins with deep breathing exercises, followed by a detailed body scan where listeners are encouraged to be present in each area of their body while drawing attention to their breath. Jyothi emphasizes the practice of returning to the breath as an anchor, helping listeners gently release any judgment or tension they may be holding. Moments of silence are incorporated, allowing listeners to be curious and attentive to any sensations or feelings that arise. Jyothi concludes the practice by reminding listeners of the power of their intention and expressing gratitude and compassion towards themselves.

The Journey You Own BIPOC Meditation Gathering is a group meditation session specifically designed for individuals who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color). In these sessions, individuals can connect with others who share similar experiences, create a sense of community, and support each other in their meditation practice.

The JYO BIPOC meditation gatherings provide a unique space for BIPOC individuals to prioritize their mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being, and to honor their identities and experiences within the practice of meditation. Through these sessions, our aim is to create a safe and supportive space for BIPOC individuals to practice meditation together.

About JYO Meditation Gathering

The Journey You Own Meditation Gathering is a free, sitting meditation session designed to offer a shared, supportive space to explore grounding practices.

Sessions are held online via Zoom and take place on Tuesday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and Saturday mornings.

These are low-key sessions, and you are free to join with your camera on or off. There’s no expectation to speak unless you’d like to share.
